#1 I Am Vegan, Babe

Canggu · All-day plant kitchen · $$

The name says it with its whole chest. A loud, pink-hearted all-vegan diner doing burgers, loaded fries and shakes that convert sceptics by the second bite.

  • The smashburger and dirty fries get named again and again as the best junk-style vegan food in Canggu.
  • Staff remember regulars and actually seem to like working there, which you feel the moment you sit down.
  • Portions are generous for the price, so two people rarely leave hungry or broke.

#2 Moksa

Ubud · Plant-based fine dining & permaculture · $$$

Plant fine dining set in its own permaculture garden, where half of tonight's plate was picked steps away. Ubud's argument that vegan food can be an event.

  • Garden-to-plate is real here, not a slogan, and you taste it.
  • Plating and creativity that justify a special-occasion booking.
  • The garden tour is a genuine highlight, not a gimmick.

#3 Anandinii Vegan Restaurant

Sidemen · Balinese-international plant-based · $$

One of the finest tables on the island, full stop. A fully vegan kitchen in the Sidemen hills cooking Balinese and international plates around organic vegetables pulled from its own garden that morning, some of the freshest you will eat anywhere. Ambience and food both land at the very top.

  • The organic vegetables come straight from their own garden, and you taste it, genuinely some of the freshest produce on Bali.
  • Ambience and setting are a destination in themselves, terraced gardens and rice-field views up in the Sidemen hills.
  • Food and atmosphere both at the very top, the kind of 10/10 meal people travel across the island for.

#4 Cafe Laut

Kedungu · Garden cafe, brunch & all-day kitchen · $$

A charming, slow-paced cafe tucked into the rice fields of Pangkung Tibah, just back from Kedungu beach. German-run, with a big clearly-marked plant-based side: creative mains like eggplant-coconut rendang and pumpkin-cashew pasta, proper coffee and tree-planting smoothies. A vegetarian house, but vegan butter, cheese and feta are all there for the asking.

  • A calm garden cafe among the Pangkung Tibah rice fields, where a big share of the menu is clearly leaf-marked vegan, and vegan butter, cheese and feta are all on hand.
  • Genuinely creative plant cooking, eggplant and coconut rendang, pumpkin-cashew pasta, coconut udon noodles, not just the usual bowls.
  • Easygoing all-day spot with good coffee, big smoothies and a tree planted for every Forest Smoothie sold.

#5 The Shady Shack

Canggu · Plant-forward (mostly vegan) · $$

A green, breezy Canggu institution overlooking the rice fields. Almost entirely plant-based, with a brunch that locals plan their mornings around.

  • The rice-paddy setting is the postcard everyone wants, especially at golden hour.
  • Big, reliable brunch menu that handles a mixed group of vegans and not-yet-vegans.
  • Smoothie bowls land thick and cold, not melted and sweet.

#6 Red Gunpowder

Pererenan · Indian & spice-led · $$

A spice-forward kitchen where the vegetarian and vegan side of the menu is the main event, not the consolation prize. Dal, curries and breads with real heat.

  • Genuinely spiced food for people who think Bali plays it too safe.
  • Big vegan section that stands on its own.
  • Breads and dal get singled out constantly.

#7 Avocado Factory

Canggu · Health cafe & brunch · $$

A bright Pererenan brunch spot built around the obvious hero ingredient, with a deep bench of clearly marked vegan plates beyond the avo toast.

  • Vegan options are clearly labelled, so you are not interrogating the waiter.
  • Bright, photogenic room that still feels relaxed.
  • Coffee is genuinely good, not an afterthought.

#8 O Baba Vegan

Sanur · Plant-based brunch & comfort food · $$

A tiny 100% plant-based spot in Sanur Kauh doing pancakes, waffles and French toast with no refined sugar and nothing deep-fried. Breakfast through dinner, daily.

#9 Cis Culinary Vegan

Denpasar · Indonesian nasi padang · $

A fully vegan take on Indonesian classics in Padangsambian, including plant-based nasi padang and nasi guling Bali. A rare spot doing veganised local feast food.

#10 The Chai Uluwatu

Uluwatu · Tea house, vegan · $$

A calm vegan and vegetarian tea house on Labuan Sait built around Chinese teas and short tea ceremonies. Avocado toast, falafel, hummus and masala chai round out a menu with no meat in sight.
